The VP of People is responsible for leading the development of strategies supporting the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. Specific responsibility areas include culture development, succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, employee relations, employment law, compliance, and training and development. This position will lead and direct the strategic plans of the HR and Training departments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Development of a ?first who, then what? company culture that emphasizes quality,commitment to service, continuous learning,team-work and high performance.
2. Participates fully on the senior management team performing as a key partner in organizational visioning, leadership, and strategic planning. Collaborate with each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
3. Develop, implement and maintain human resource policies and programs as required complying with federal, state and local regulations.
4. Serves as lead and first point of contact to senior outside affiliations and partnerships such as compensations, benefits, and legal employment matters. Negotiates and directs contracts as necessary.
5. Develops and leads projects supporting the Credit Union?s Commitment to People and goal of being the Best Place to Work in our Region. Participates fully in Florida Commerce activities and professional societies, promoting the credit union, and/or human resources.

Human Resources and Training Level:
1. Develops and manages a progressive and proactive benefit and compensation program which motivates, incentivizes and rewards effective performance
2. Develops and manages the budget and other financial measures for the department
3. Develops, initiates and maintains HR policy and procedures for the organization
4. Manages and partners with other leaders on team member performance and development including annual appraisals, progressive discipline, career development, and succession planning
5. Provides leadership and/or supports the design,development, and implementation of in-house training programs for skill and culture development
6. Directs and supervises the staff in the HR and Training departments
7. Leads and collaborates with other team members to facilitate internal development programs and team member meetings.

Overall:
1. Will perform job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration and State of Florida.
2. Complies with Reg E, BSA, OFAC and CIP requirements such as ensuring venders have been checked against the OFAC list and ensuring that job descriptions adequately reflect duties necessary to comply with BSA.
3. Fully supports in actions and words Florida Commerce?s Vision, Mission, Core Values and Service Standards
4. Attends meetings timely and as required;reports to work as scheduled and adheres to Florida Commerce?s dress code
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. MBA preferred. SPHR preferred. Continuing education in the area of employment law and other HR disciplines a plus,
Seven or more years of human resource leadership experience at the executive level. Fifteen or more years total human resources experience.
