Here's a look at what caught your attention most in 2012:
Albums
Adele's 21, which came out in early 2011 (yes, 2011), experienced a post-Grammys album sales boost and became the first artist on iTunes to go double platinum.
Songs
Viral hit "Call Me Maybe," which landed Carly Rae Jepsen a record deal and earned her a Song of the Year Grammy nomination, raked in the most downloads.
