Writing Articles To Promote Your Website | SEO Updates and Guide

Writing articles is one of the best ways to promote your website or blog and to get free publicity. Of course, your blog or website itself will require content, but anything you write above and beyond this can be used for promotional purposes.

Article marketing, or the practice of writing effective articles for promotional purposes, is no secret. Many marketers are aware of what a powerful method it is for marketing online. It ranks along with public speaking and press releases as one of the most important tools of marketing success.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows the most effective way to do it. Additionally, some people are hamstrung by misconceptions that slow down the article marketing process.

A quality website should contain at least some original content, and a blog practically requires it. And what are blog postings? They are essentially keyword-rich articles that are produced on a regular basis.

Creating the most effective content is a skill that must be built over time and experience. Good articles deliver something of value to the reader. They show the reader how to solve some problem or otherwise provide valuable information.

Because people are looking for information, writing quality articles provides you with a good deal of online leverage. It appeals to your readers and it appeals to the search engines-especially if they notice that readers spend a fair amount of time on your site, as this is the best indicator of quality content. The failure to provide quality is a reason why so many sites were recently "slapped" by Google.

Remember that duplicate content is penalized by Google and the other major search engines. The key is to write fresh, original content. If you hatee to type, you can use a voice dictation program like Dragon Dictate for Mac or Dragon NaturallySpeaking for PC. It makes article writing much easier!

Remember also that articles can fall into many categories: Guest blog posts, online magazine content, tutorials, white papers, and educational and corporate documentation. Sometimes you can repurpose an article to serve more than one need. For example, you could use blog posts as material to feed into your autoresponder, you could compile them into e-books for further circulation and you could even use them to create instructional videos.

One of the easiest types of articles to write is also one of the most popular among readers: the "tips" article. For example, 5 Tips On Getting Over Your First Love, 7 Ways To Get Sixpack Abs, 3 Ways To Transfer Music To Your iPod, and so on.

Articles are an excellent way to promote your website and increase your traffic without spending money. You want to be sure to include your link to your website at the end of the article in a short paragraph that is known as the resource box. Of course, it takes time to write articles and submit them to article directories, so you should get started right away.

Don't forget about all of the one-way backlinks that article writing and submission can create for your website. This is an important way to build link popularity.

Articles can be a great way to position your online business, but one article will not do it. You need to continually write articles and submit them to the article sites.

Remember that if you write one article a week, at the end of the year you will have 52 articles, all pointing to your website. If you write one article a day you will have 365 articles, and if you are able to write just four articles per day (excluding weekends) at the end of the year you'll have a whopping 1000+ articles that you can use for any purpose!

Why not get started writing now?
